Apple has just announced the date and prices of Apple Arcade , the first subscription-based gaming service designed for mobile, desktop and even “for the living room”. Apple Arcade will arrive 19 September in 150 countries in the world at a price of 4, 99 Euro per month with “family subscription” option, or the right to share the subscription with all family members
On the stage of the Steve Jobs Theater, several famous development teams took the stage Konami, Capcom and Annapurna Interactive who showed the Apple Arcade declinations by Frogger, Into The Depths and Sayonara Wildhearts .
At launch Apple Arcade will boast more 100 new and exclusive titles , chosen on the basis of criteria of originality, quality, creativity, fun, and with the aim of responding to the needs of players belonging to all age groups. Players will have the possibility to play for the selection of titles for free according to the formula “all-you-can-play” , without being bothered by banner ads, data tracking services, or in-app purchase formulas . All, of course, with the utmost respect for privacy.
Apple Arcade will be a dedicated section of the App Store , but will not replace the category dedicated to video games. On the App Store there are about 300 thousand video games, including free and for a fee or with in-app purchases or advertising. Paid games are basically those on which producers invest the most and succeed in achieving success more easily, however small developers need to offer their creations for free, and compete on free it's not easy. Indeed, it happens that even free high quality games have difficulty in reaching a good slice of the public.
