A Youtuber by the name of DennisNetwork has showcased a Mortal Kombat 11 camera mod.
The mod allows players to take a tour of the game behind the scenes. It gives us an idea of how much NetherRealm Studios really worked on the backdrop.
That’s not the only thing the mod can do though. Here’s a unique perspective of the fatal blow moves but from a fixed 2D camera.
The third perspective does put an interesting spin on things honestly. It also shows the different details that go into the implementation of the fatal blows.
The way the characters adjust themselves in place, along with the lighting dynamically changing to highlight exactly what’s happening. It almost feels like the fighters involved are actors in a play.
Other videos on DennisNetwork continued to use the Mortal Kombat 11 camera mod. The most interesting utilization was exploring what goes on in the maps outside of our view. Since NetherRealm only intended for the players to see the 2D plain where the Kombatants fight, there was no actual need to design the whole area. Yet here are some interesting spots.
There’s a black dragon mercenary using the loo in the Black Dragon pub arena. You can also spectate the entire simulated matches going on in the arcade machines on the NetherRealm Studios map. You can also catch highly detailed and gruesome cyber Lin-Quei manufacturing with the use of human corpses.
It’s good to see developers go the extra mile to make their game more detailed. Even if it means risking their own potential sanity in the process.
If you liked this Mortal Kombat 11 camera mod, I’d definitely suggest giving a look to similar footage of Dark Souls 3. Souls 3 has amazing detail and thought put into the backdrop of its scenes. As well as the fact that nearly every area is rendered when you beat the Vordt and approach the banner point.
