AMD Ryzen 3000 Desktop CPUs will launch in Q3 2019, that much is confirmed.

However, AMD didn’t reveal any specifics regarding the CPU and now a 16 Core Ryzen 3000 CPU has leaked online.

The leak comes from the Twitter user TUM_APISAK. The leak also reveals and base and boost clock for the 16 Core AMD Ryzen 3000 CPU.

According to the leak, the 16 Core Ryzen 3000 CPU features a base clock of 3.3 GHz and 4.2 GHz boost clock. The CPU is based on the Zen2 microarchitecture.

If this leak is to be believed then AMD is bringing 16 Core/32 Thread CPU to mainstream users. However, take it with a grain of salt until AMD officially confirms it.

Also, this leaked CPU is an early sample meaning the final product will potentially feature higher clock speed and might even touch the 5.0 GHz mark for boost clock.

Also, these aren’t the only Ryzen 3000 CPU to leak online. Previously, listings for Ryzen 9 3800X, Ryzen 7 3700X, And Ryzen 5 3600X appeared online revealing their specs.

The AMD Ryzen 9 3800X comes with 16 Cores/32 threads, 3.90 GHz base clock, 4.70 GHz of boost clock and 32 MB L3 cache. However, the specs for Ryzen 7 3700X are quite interesting.

The Ryzen 7 3700X features 12 Cores, 4.20 GHz base clock, and a staggering 5.0 GHz boost clock. Either AMD has developed a new cooling tech or this boost only applies to a single core.

5.0 GHz of boost clock on all of the 12 Cores will put too much strain on the CPU and its temperature will rise to the point where it becomes unusable. That is why overclockers use liquid nitrogen as a cooling solution while overlocking CPU to their limits.

Aside from the CPUs, AMD has confirmed that its 7nm Navi GPU for Q3 2019 release. Meaning both AMD’s desktop CPUs and GPU will launch between July and September.

According to another leak, the Navi GPU is Radeon RX 3080. Furthermore, the GPU is an equivalent of Nvidia RTX 2070 and costs only $330.

Considering that RTX 2070 can render video games with real-time Ray Tracing enabled, the upcoming Navi GPU might also be capable of rendering Ray Tracing.

AMD GPUs won’t be the only ones giving Nvidia a competition as next-gen consoles will also support real-time Ray Tracing. Sony has confirmed that PlayStation 5 features AMD Navi GPU and is able to render video games with real-time Ray Tracing enabled.
