The Doodle of 21 Google's birthday
Today, 27 September 2019, and the 21 Google's birthday.
Actually, Google's anniversary is celebrated on 27 September for not very clear reasons. And the date of the birthday has always been the subject of discussions. It seems that the well-known search engine was born on September 4th of 1998. Google itself admits to have celebrated the birthday in the past on different dates and only from 2005 the date appears to be made official at 27 September.
Actually the domain www.google.com had already been registered a year before, the 15 September of 1997.
Some argue that the decision to celebrate 27 September has to do with a post published in 2005 on the official Google blog in which what would become the world's largest search engine claimed to have made its index a thousand times greater, in response to Yahoo !, which said it had surpassed Google's index (but the post in question is dated 26 September).
Google supports that 21 years ago, the 27 September, Google's “dad” Larry Page and Sergey Brin, published an article on the launch of a “large-scale search engine” prototype
Where Google was born
Google was born in a dorm room in Stanford. His “dads”, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, were at the time two doctoral students.
The two had met at Stanford. Larry was a freshman and Sergey, older, had been commissioned to show him the campus.
21 Google's birthday, why yes thus calls the search engine
Google, at the beginning, was not called “Google”. The first name chosen by the two founders was Backrub. Larry and Sergey had already thought of it in 1996, even before making their idea concrete. It was an algorithm that gave the votes to the links, whether positive or negative. In short, he indexed them. And it was used inside the university. Today Google is operating all over the world 100 languages, responding to trillions of search queries every year.
“We chose the name of our system, Google, because it is a common spelling of googol or 10100 and fits perfectly with our goal of building large-scale search engines “, said Larry Page and Sergey Brin.
The legend actually says that the word “Google” was a error of spelling during the registration of the domain. Originally it was to be called its own “Googol”, which is the term used in mathematics to indicate a 1 followed by 100 zeros.
The Google logo
Primary colors were used for the colors of the Google logo letters. Since October 2008 the first G is blue, the red O, the second yellow O, the second G again blue and the yellow E. The penultimate letter, L, is green, perhaps a way to make it clear that society thinks differently and does not follow the rules.
Google's style has always remained minimal, with a white background. The first G has always been capitalized. What has changed slightly over the years is the font some letters.
I Google Doodle : what are they
I Doodle are modified versions of the logo that are displayed on Google's home page during special events and holidays or anniversaries; for example the beginning of spring, Christmas, Halloween, the beginning of European or world or anniversaries of important personalities, such as great scientists or artists, or of inventions and scientific discoveries.
Often it is not just a simple stylistic change and Doodle is also associated with a mini-game, usable by users until normal graphics are restored .
I Doodle may be the same all over the world or may be different depending on the events in the various countries.
